Beerschot is going to build a new training complex worth 7 million euros | Jupiler Pro League

From a sporting point of view, Beerschot is in heavy weather and there is a threat of relegation. But that doesn’t mean the club isn’t thinking about the longer-term future. A brand new training complex is to be built on the University Square in the coming years.

“The complex accommodates the first team and the youth work in one building, each with its own wing,” Beerschot writes on its website. “Separate changing rooms, fitness rooms and medical cabinets will be provided.”

“There will also be a players’ home for the A-team and the youth teams and the top sports school will have a multifunctional sports hall.”

It is thanks to this link with the top sports school that Sport Vlaanderen is also investing in the project. The 7 million euros will be divided neatly between the owners of the club and Sport Vlaanderen. “So the money does not come from Beerschot’s sporting budget.”

The club will submit a building application at the end of February and work should already start at the end of this season. “With this project, Beerschot is clearly drawing the attention of the youth. With this investment we want to focus on further professionalizing the club.”
