Beckenried voters approve of the budget and loans

The Beckenried voters had to decide on several transactions at the community meeting on Friday evening. Among other things, the 2024 budget was up for debate. There were no requests for amendments and the budget was approved by the approximately 130 voters present “without discussions,” as the municipality reports. The budgeted increase in the income statement is 2,360 francs. The budget includes net investments of 4,763,000 francs. The tax rate will remain at 1.79 units for the coming year.

The next year’s budget for the Beckenried municipal utility was also approved without any requests to speak, it goes on to say. A profit of 435,700 francs is expected. The net investments amount to 6.5 million francs.

School building can be further renovated

The meeting also approved the construction loan of 800,000 francs for the second stage of the renovation of the old part of the upper school building. “This means that the planned work can be carried out during the school holidays next year,” writes the municipality.

The additional loan for the new construction of the Schwändi spring water drainage including the renewal of the Schwändi water supply of 1,490,000 francs was also approved. The execution of this major project will also begin next year.

The municipal assembly also approved three applications for naturalization. A Greek woman, an Austrian woman and a German-Bulgarian family of four are now citizens of Beckenried. (lur)
