Because of Rosenets: The deputies voted to have a commission for the Budjaka-Politika area as well

The first joint project of MRF and “There is such a people” in parliament – the proposal for a temporary commission for illegal actions of the competent authorities on the Budjaka peninsula near Sozopol – was supported by all parties (202 MPs present voted in favor).

The debate, which lasted more than an hour and a half, however, was not substantive, but filled with mutual attacks on the “deep state” as a metaphor for behind-the-scenes governance. The rostrum of the National Assembly was used by “There is such a people”, “Democratic Bulgaria” and “Stand up. BG! We are coming!” to comment on why the negotiations for the government failed, despite the repeated remarks of the Speaker of the Parliament Iva Miteva and from the hall that the statements are not on the topic.

The leader of “Democratic Bulgaria” Hristo Ivanov proposed that commissions be set up for all localities in which it should be checked whether there are any violations or problemsrelated to nature conservation or a joint commission to consider the cases. The idea was hardly commented on, except by the deputy chairman of “There is such a people” Toshko Yordanov, who said that they would support any other commissions on these issues.

The chairman of the commission was Dzhevdet Chakarov from the MRF (he is a former Minister of Environment and Water in the government of the Triple Coalition between 2005 and 2009). As there is given the almost announced end of the 46th National Assembly due to the withdrawal of the draft cabinet of “There is such a people”, it is not known whether and how many times the commission will meet.

What is the commission for?

The proposal for the commission was presented by the MRF (they are petitioners together with “There is such a people”), who were most active on the topic, and the leader of “Democratic Bulgaria” Hristo Ivanov explained why they will support the idea, but also toan aqua “propaganda event” lurks behind it, related to the role of Ahmed Dogan’s party in building and maintaining façade democracy in Bulgaria.

The topic of Budzhaka was actually proposed by the MRF as a reaction against the establishment of a commission for Rosenets at the suggestion of Democratic Bulgaria to inspect the property associated with the movement’s honorary chairman Ahmed Dogan (it was voted on July 22 in a 193 vote) . Then the MRF asked the commission for Rosenets to deal with the property of Budjaka. However, this was rejected by MPs, arguing that the “divorce commission” will be.

Later, GERB deputies submitted a proposal for a temporary commission for Budzhaka. But after him, the MRF and Slavi Trifonov’s party did the same. What was evident from the documents submitted to the parliament for the committees was that the proposals for decisions were identical as a text, there was only a partial difference in the reasons. However, GERB withdrew its share after the MRF and “There is such a people”.

According to the reasons for setting up the commission, the petitioners refer to media publications (without specifying which ones) that In 2001, the management plan for the Kolokita Protected Area, which includes the Budjaka Peninsula, was changed to allow construction there.. Thus, the area is divided into zone 1 and zone 2, the first of which includes the fjords and rocks along the coast, and the second of the lands. “Now the whole zone 2 is completely built up, and the fjords, which are fully protected and fall into zone 1, can now be enjoyed only by the owners of the mansions located there,” the statement said.

The work of the commission is provided with a period of 3 months, during which it should check the activity of the institutions in the case.

“Mirror Commission”

In his speech on the topic, Hristo Ivanov said that the group supports the idea, because in the event of irregularities on the Black Sea coast, “of course, we would like this to be established.”

The second argument, in his words, is because “this topic is used as a propaganda event that defends the facade democracy of Bulgaria, in which decisions are made outside the institutions.” Ivanov described this as a “deep state” (using the Turkish term for “derin devlet”) and addressed the MRF, saying the party has a key role to play in building “facade democracy”. He summed up that Budzhaka was talked about after “It became clear that the Bulgarian prosecutor’s office could no longer close its eyes to Rosenets, it started without any logic a simultaneous investigation into Rosenets and Budzhak.”.

“The propaganda resource, controlled by the circles around the barn, immediately around Mr. Peevski, who connected these two topics, immediately joined in,” Hristo Ivanov added.

In response, Yordan Tsonev from the MRF reiterated the general thesis known to the party that the roots of the deep state are in the late 1990s because of the American philanthropist George Soros and non-governmental organizations. Once again, he intervened in the name of the founder of “Dnevnik” Ivo Prokopiev and even announced that the state was controlled by Budzhaka (editor’s note – Ivo Prokopiev has a property in the area near Sozopol).

Tsonev also said that Ivanov “guessed what the goals of this commission are – to show the roots of the deep state, the roots of the backstage, because they are not from 2009, 2013, 2017, they are from 1997, even a little before that, when Mr. Soros’ structures were made by Mr. Lukanov. “

Who will check Budjaka

After almost two hours of attacks, lawmakers voted for the commission to have 12 members – two from each party.

Its members will be Toshko Yordanov and Stanislav Balabanov (from “There is such a people”), Mladen Shishkov and Lyuben Dilov (from GERB-UDF, he also became deputy chairman), Veska Nencheva and Todor Baichev (from “BSP for Bulgaria”) ), Dimitar Naidenov and Kaloyan Yankov (from “Democratic Bulgaria”), Dzhevdet Chakarov and Sevim Ali (from MRF, as Chakarov is chairman of the commission), Meglena Guncheva and Zhivko Tabakov (from “Stand up.BG! We are coming!”) .
