Because of Corona: Lufthansa and Eurowings are suspending flights from Leipzig – Leipzig

Leipzig – The airline Lufthansa and its subsidiary Eurowings are suspending their flights from Leipzig-Halle for the time being.

The reason is the lower demand due to the corona pandemic, the company said on Wednesday. Both had already reduced their flights to and from Leipzig-Halle significantly in the summer due to the slump in demand. The last connections to Munich and Dusseldorf have now been removed from the flight plan.

Lufthansa plans to resume operations with the summer flight schedule in 2021. Basically, Eurowings sees Leipzig as a relevant market and strives for the connection to be resumed as soon as possible.

Lufthansa currently flies from Dresden to Frankfurt / Main and Munich. Eurowings currently operates routes to Düsseldorf and Stuttgart from the state capital.

Machines go up to twice a day, an increase is planned from December. In the same month there will be flights to Cologne / Bonn again.
