Because mother kisses her baby: viral illness almost blinds babies!

21-year-old Hollie Cruickshanks kissed her baby Oarlah. The mother infected herpes and her child. As a result, this almost went blind.

Dundee – The 15 month young today infant At six months old, Oarlah from Dundee, Scotland, won a very difficult fight against a herpes virus that almost blinded her.

Little Oarlah in November last year. The one-year-old had already completely recovered from her infection.

Covered all over with red blisters, the little girl came to a Scottish hospital in spring 2019. The reason for this was a herpes virus transmitted by her mother, Hollie Cruickshanks.

Even worse: the red pustules even “got lost” in the baby’s left eye.

As the 21-year-old mother revealed to the British newspaper “Sun”, she was completely shocked and almost panicked: “It was sheer horror for me when I saw it.”

Should your little girl lose eyesight because of the rash?

She immediately went to a hospital with her boyfriend Bradley. Fortunately, the doctors got the swelling and the rash under control quite quickly, so that the all-clear could be given quickly.

All right people !? Oarlah before the infection.

All right people !? Oarlah before the infection.

But how did it get this far?

Mother Hollie probably infected her little Oarlah with the viruses through a kiss. This then spread in no time over the baby’s body.

And that’s not uncommon. This is often what happens when parents with “active herpes” kiss or touch their babies.

The little one’s immune system is nowhere near as strong, and infections can quickly occur.

However, if you understandably seek contact with your child, you have to follow a few rules. So thorough hand washing is a must anyway. With an active infection on the mouth, direct contact in the form of a kiss should be avoided urgently.

However, if the child is already infected, it is best to see a doctor and treat the affected areas with creams.

The risk of infection in infants is many times higher and can extend to the internal organs and can even be life-threatening.

Luckily, help for little Oarlah came early enough and she is fine. Hollie and Bradley often post sweet pictures of their little big happiness.
