Although it has been commissioned for some time now, few details are still circulating about the long-awaited spin-off series of the live-action version of the acclaimed Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast.
The series, whose music will be signed by composer Alan Menken, will focus on the film’s main antagonist, Gaston, and his trusty sidekick, the hilarious Le Tont, who will once again be played by Luke Evans (The Alienist) and Josh Gad.
The Central Park creator himself, who had spoken about how the various characters will be explored, returned to provide an update on the project, explaining that – barring any complications or slowdowns due to Covid-19 – filming should begin in spring.
“We are planning to start filming in the spring and the scripts are amazing, the music is amazing, there will be new Alan Menken songs and we are now busy with casting,” Gad revealed during an interview to promote a new project tied to Peacock’s streaming service.
While waiting to know more, we remind you that the series will have Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, creators of Once Upon a Time, as showrunners and producers.
