For this occasion, the boulevard Marx-Dormoy will close from Saturday to Monday morning, and no less than 60 tons of sand will cover the road and the sidewalks. Please note that from tonight, any vehicle parking will also be impossible.
Festivities that will extend from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m., throughout the street. On the program: a beach volleyball tournament, a multitude of activities, music and a barbecue. “We planned a cornhole* in addition to a slippery stomach, just to cool off”explains Enzo Remous, the manager of the bar.
Activities around the beach
The main event of the day, the tournament will be played in teams of 2 or 4 on the only urban ground erected in front of the bar. Registrations are already open to the public but will not close.at 4 p.m. on Saturday, to allow time for people who arrive to participate.
This idea, Enzo Remous has kept it in the back of his mind for a while. A dream that will now come true. “Before I even opened the bar, I wanted to have a beach party and put sand all over the premises, explains the manager of the establishment. In the end, we managed to extend this project to the whole street.”
Despite the high temperatures recorded in recent weeks, whoever is in charge of organizing this event anticipated the problem. “At the end of the afternoon, the street will start to be in the shade. We also plan to install many parasols. There will be everything necessary so that people do not suffer from the temperature.”
“Organize something that changes”
While outings to the beach or to festivals are increasing during this summer period, the young bartender sees this as an opportunity to offer “a new event for the city, which is nice.” The objective: renew the “Beach party” every summer.
To end this day which promises to be high in temperature, a DJ will animate the end of the evening, until the closing of the bar.
