BCCI allows 50 per cent spectators in second Test

The BCCI has allowed 50 per cent spectators at the stadium for the second Test of the England-India series. The match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The state government had yesterday issued guidelines allowing 50 per cent spectators to enter the stadiums. This was followed by the intervention of the BCCI.

The first two matches are in Chepauk. The first match will be played in a closed stadium. The second match is expected to draw 12000-15000 spectators.

The first Test starts on February 5. The second match will be played on the 13th in Chennai. The last two matches will be played on February 24 and March 4 at the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Meanwhile, spectators are likely to enter the last two Tests in Motera. The matches will be played at the Motera Stadium, which can accommodate over one lakh spectators. Therefore, the BCCI estimates that at least 50 per cent of the spectators will be able to enter.

Motera Stadium, with a seating capacity of 110,000, is the largest cricket stadium in the world. This is the first time the stadium has hosted an international match since it was renovated. Earlier, the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy was played here.
