BBC Breakfast host Charlie Stayt’s hair has been pulled out of stardom after he was accused of wearing a wig

He’s been a regular at the red sofa since it first appeared more than 15 years ago.

Charlie, who sports thick hair, with visible gray hair, has been regularly accused of wearing a wig.

Speaking to The Sun, Stayt said “it’s an ongoing debate” whether or not her hair is real.

One guest even went so far as to pull the locks in an attempt to close the entries once and for all.

She revealed, “He was even tackled by Liza Minnelli, who leaned forward and pulled my hair just to prove it.”

Adding to the vocals, Charlie’s co-host Naga, 47, jokes that she’s always telling everyone she’s wearing a wig.

The pair were talking as BBC Breakfast celebrates its 40th year on the air.

The Beeb program will air a special episode on January 17 to mark the occasion.

Charlie embarrassingly forgot the name of one of his BBC Breakfast colleagues in The Weakest Link.

When it came to a question about someone he worked with, Charlie stopped and asked for it to be repeated.

Host Romesh Ranganathan asked, “On TV, the journalist and host who has an eponymous daytime show called Steph’s Packed Lunch has what last name?”

Charlie asked, “Can you repeat the question?”

After an awkward silence, Charlie then correctly answered who McGovern was, who worked on BBC Breakfast alongside her until 2019, when she moved to Channel 4.
