Lovers of medieval parties and children who love fighting between knights will not have to wait until October 9, 2023,And edition of the Rosa d’Oro, to be amazed! From this weekend of 8 and 9 October, 72 historical reenactment companies from all over the south of France, from Bordeaux to Monaco via Lyon, but also one from Spain and two from Italy, as well as craftsmen, or 1,200 medievalists , they will take over the Barthelasse leisure center in Avignon.
A Sunday full of fun
Private event Saturday 8, the Montjoie party! San Denis! will be open to the public for the first time on Sunday 9 October, from 10.00 to 18.00. Admission is set at 5 euros for adults and free for children up to 12 years.

Unlike the Rose d’Or, on Saturday there will be no parade in the city center of Avignon and on Sunday there will be a big battle to close the party. But Sunday will be full of entertainment on the fields ranging from the Viking period to the fifteenthAnd century: medieval market, craft demonstrations, archery competition, knight fights (one on one, two on two, three on three) and a battle of the brats to overthrow knights in search of sweets!
