Luis Suarez will undergo a medical examination in the sports city of Barcelona in the coming days to confirm if his right knee has already recovered and thus receive a medical discharge, ESPN reported.
The Uruguayan striker underwent surgery on January 12 for a discomfort in the meniscus of his right leg. His last game was the defeat of Barcelona against Atlético de Madrid in the semifinals of the Spain Supercup, disputed in Saudi Arabia.

The surgery implied that the person from Salta would be absent from the first two dates of the Playoffs for the 2022 World Cup and many of the decisive instances of the Spanish league and the Champions League European, but the paralysis of competition due to the coronavirus pandemic, which changed all the plans of world football, allowed him to carry out most of the recovery work without paying attention to the results of his teams. This determined that 12 official matches were lost: eight in the League, three in the Cup and one in the Champions League.

Suárez began recovery at the Ciutat Esportiva from the end of January. When the Spanish government decreed the state of alarm, the player completed the rehabilitation with exercises at home. According to ESPN, the club’s doctors want to do extensive tests on his knee to determine if he really is fit to train with the rest of his teammates in the coming weeks.
If there is no counter order, the Barcelona players will undergo the COVID-19 tests this Wednesday and the first individual session with six players would be on Friday the 8th, although there is still no official decision.
