The contract with the Greek match manager is concluded until the 2023 season. As mentioned earlier, Barcelona was willing to pay $ 5.5 million (approximately € 5 million) for the Greek club Panathinaikos for Kalates.
Kalatess spent an average of 32 minutes and 11 seconds on the field in the 28 games of the ULEB Euroleague tournament this season, during which he scored an average of 13.3 points, won 4.9 rebounds and added 9.1 assists as well as 1.1 intercepted balls.
Kalatess returned to Europe in 2015 and has since become the main match manager for Panathinaikos. He has established himself as one of the best Euroleague players.
It has already been reported that on June 30, “Kirolbet Baskonia” of Vitoria-Gasteiz, represented by Artūrs Kurucs, gave up 67:69 in the final match of “Barcelona” ACB league, when the Latvian became the Spanish champion. Although the contract with the 70-year-old head coach of the Barcelona club Svetislav Pešič was also valid for the next season, the team management decided to dismiss the specialist, appointing Lithuanian Šarūnas Jasikēvičs instead.
