Barcelona hard to achieve victory when entertaining Athletic Bilbao in continuation LaLiga. Blaugrana won 1-0 via the only goal Marc Guiu.
The tenth Jornada of the Spanish League brings together Barcelona vs Bilbao. The match took place at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, Monday (23/10/2023) early morning WIB.
Both teams played openly from the start of the match. Bilbao got the first chance through Inaki Williams’ shot which was pushed over by Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the fifth minute.
Barcelona threatened again in the 11th minute. Joao Felix grabbed Ferran Torres’ cross, but the ball flew over the crossbar.
The home team almost scored three minutes later. Fermin Lopez’s shot was thwarted by Simon.
Athletic Bilbao created two golden opportunities before halftime through Inaki Williams and Nico Williams, but neither became a goal. The first half ended goalless.
Both teams continued to play attackingly into the second half. Cancelo’s kick in the 76th minute was blocked by Simon.
GOL! Barcelona broke the deadlock in the 80th minute. Substitute Marc Guiu got his name on the scoreboard.
Guiu ran onto Joao Felix’s low pass, before shooting the ball past Simon into the goal. Barcelona led 1-0 and held on until the end of the match.
This victory brought Barcelona up to third place in the Spanish League standings with 24 points. Athletic Bilbao is stuck in sixth place with 17 points.
