Quique Setién’s adventure on the bench of FC Barcelona should not continue beyond this season. According to Goal Spain, the leaders would not count on their coach, appointed last January to replace Ernesto Valverde. He signed up for two and a half years, but the flat performances of the Blaugranas and the tensions recently appeared in the locker room would not argue in favor of the former technician of Betis Seville.
Setién will not continue to coach FC Barcelona next season. They believe that he has lost the dressing room and the board, although he will support him in public, right now he plans to do without the Cantabrian at the end of the course. https://t.co/K2jkdd5Qi6 in @GoalEspana

According to Goal, the majority of the board of directors is already in favor of leaving. The players would not understand his instructions and would not taste his speeches in front of the press. His interventionism during training sessions does not please the workforce either, tired of being regularly corrected for the technical execution of certain gestures.
His deputy, Eder Sarabia, would also crystallize the critics. The latter has already reported this season in angering Catalan players, including Antoine Griezmann, in full game. This weekend, Lionel Messi ostensibly snubbed his instructions twice during a cool break during the match against Celta Vigo (2-2).
The club will support (publicly at least) Setien until the end of the season while the team is still in the race to claim the La Liga title (two points behind leader Madrid). But Setién should not continue, once the verdict is known. This could open the door wide for Xavi, ready to take over on the bench five years after leaving the club as a player.
