Barack Obama, former US president, tests positive for Covid-19 – El Sol de San Juan del Río

Through his official Twitter account, the former president of the United States, Barack Obama confirmed that he tested positive for Covid-19; while his wife Michelle Obama tested negative.

In his publication on networks, he pointed out that the symptoms he suffered were mild, for which he assured that he felt good in the face of his infection.

“I’ve had a scratchy throat for a couple of days, but otherwise I feel fine,” he said.

He also detailed that his wife, former first lady Michelle Obama, obtained a negative result from the Covid-19 detection test, in addition to expressing her gratitude for already having the booster vaccine.

In this vein, the former president of the United States emphasized the importance of receiving the Covid-19 vaccine, as he assured that it “helps prevent more serious symptoms and prevent the transmission of Covid.”



Through his same Twitter post, WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus wished the former US president a speedy recovery.

“I wish you a quick and easy recovery from #COVID19, President Brack Obama, and I couldn’t agree with you more: It’s important that people get vaccinated,” he said.
