Bankruptcy has been opened for 21st Century Concerts GmbH

The bankruptcy of 21st Century Concerts GmbH has been opened by a decision of the District Court of Lucerne. This is reported by moneyhouse.ch. The 21st Century Orchestra is not affected.

The report of the bankruptcy of 21st Century Concerts GmbH could cause a certain confusion: As we reported, there were conflicts between the 21st Century Orchestra and its former producer Pirmin Zängerle over the use of the label «21st Century». This was what Zängerle wanted for his company 21st Century Concerts GmbH also independently of the orchestra. In the meantime, however, Zängerle organizes concerts under the City Light Concerts label, which has nothing to do with the GmbH. Zängerle himself claims to have only just found out about the opened bankruptcy. But he is confident that he will find amicable solutions with creditors.

It is also important that the opening of bankruptcy does not affect the 21st Century Orchestra, as its sponsoring association assured us today. Apparently they had no knowledge of the bankruptcy either. The orchestra is doing well under the circumstances. It has also announced two dates for free concerts in front of the KKL (see box below).

Free concerts on Friday, August 28th and Saturday, August 29th

The 21st Century Orchestra, which has dedicated itself to film music for over 20 years, plays from its large repertoire with a reduced 10-member Chamber Orchestra under the KKL canopy. The biggest hits from Hollywood blockbusters from “Harry Potter” to “Pirates of the Caribbean” are presented.

The one-hour free concerts are financially supported by CKW. The respective highlight will be a musical tribute to the recently deceased composer Ennio Morricone. The concerts will take place on Friday, August 28th and Saturday, August 29th at 7:00 p.m. Presumably there will be 100 sectors for the audience and registration via the KKL homepage will be necessary. More information should be available next Wednesday.
