Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is an action RPG developed by DON’T NOD. Of course we know DON’T NOD from games like Life is Strange and Tell Me Why, both strongly story-driven games. With Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, the developers are making a foray into a genre where they still have relatively little experience, but who knows what creative excesses that could lead to!
In terms of storytelling, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden seems interesting anyway: ‘In the haunted wilds of North America, you enter the life of the communities of New Eden to illuminate a world plagued by supernatural creatures and ancient secrets. As a player, you combine Antea’s spiritual powers and Red’s arsenal to defeat and banish ghosts’. You play as Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith, lovers and Banishers (ghost hunters) sworn to protect the living from the threat of haunting ghosts. After Antea tragically becomes one of the ghosts she despises herself, you embark on a desperate search for a way to free her from her new fate. In the trailer above we get a nice first impression.
When Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden will be released is not yet known. According to the trailer, it will be sometime towards the end of 2023. So please be patient!
