Ban on accommodation: Open hotels & campsites

Due to Corona, tourist overnight stays in Germany were forbidden for a long time. Now the federal states are reopening their hotels, holiday apartments and campsites to holidaymakers – on one condition. An overview.

In principle, each federal state decides for itself whether it should stay overnight in Corona times Hotels, apartments or on Campsites allowed. Unless the 7-day incidence of a city or a district is over 100 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants on at least three consecutive days: In this case, the so-called federal emergency brake applies and overnight stays in accommodation establishments such as hotels or guest houses are prohibited.

  • Baden-Wuerttemberg
    Hotels, guest houses, holiday apartments and campsites are allowed to open

  • Bayern
    Hotels, holiday apartments and campsites are allowed to open

  • Berlin
    Tourist overnight stays should be possible again from June 18th. It is currently being discussed whether this opening step should be preferred

  • Brandenburg
    Overnight stays in holiday apartments and houses as well as on campsites are permitted in principle, hotels and guest houses are scheduled to open from June 11th

  • Bremen
    Hotels, holiday apartments and campsites are allowed to open

  • Hamburg
    From June 1st tourist overnight stays should be possible again

  • Hessen
    Hotels, holiday homes and campsites are allowed to open

  • Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
    Hotels and other accommodations are already open to residents of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and from June 4th this will also apply to tourists from other federal states

  • Lower Saxony
    Hotels, holiday apartments and campsites are allowed to open

  • North Rhine-Westphalia
    Hotels, holiday apartments and campsites are allowed to open

  • Rhineland-Palatinate
    Hotels, holiday apartments and campsites are allowed to open

  • Saarland
    Hotels, holiday apartments and campsites are allowed to open

  • Saxony
    Campsites and holiday apartments are allowed to open, in counties with a 7-day incidence of under 50 also hotels and guest houses

  • Saxony-Anhalt
    Hotels, guest houses, campsites and holiday apartments are allowed to open

  • Schleswig-Holstein
    Hotels, holiday apartments and campsites are allowed to open

  • Thuringia
    Campsites as well as holiday homes and apartments are allowed to open. Further easing is possible from June 4th
