BaltCap and Nalka have sold INTRAC :: Dienas Bizness

BaltCap, the largest private equity fund manager in the Baltics, along with leading investor Novator Ventures, as well as General Catalyst and Burda Principal Investments, have participated in a $ 100 million A-series round of funding for Nord Security, Lithuania’s second unicorn.

The investment will expand Nord Security’s product range and business operations, as well as accelerate the growth of the cybersecurity segment. Business angel investors also joined the round, including Ilkka Paananen, CEO of Supercell, Miki Kuusi, CEO of Wolt, and Matt Mullenweg, CEO of Automattic.

“Baltcap is actively investing in the growth potential of local companies – our funds already have four Baltic companies worth more than a billion dollars, and now Nord Security is joining them. The growth story of this company, founded in Lithuania, is one of the most impressive in the Baltics, where more than ten unicorns have already developed. We are pleased to join Nord Security on its path to modern Internet privacy and security solutions, ”emphasizes Dagnis Dreimanis, BaltCap’s Managing Partner.

“Ten years ago, we committed to creating security and privacy tools to help create a more secure and peaceful online future. We are a profitable company that has been operating on its own – without external investment, but we have found partners in our investors who share our mission to the same extent. “We will be able to grow faster and strengthen our commitment to a much better Internet. We are proud to help Lithuania, a country with a true entrepreneurial spirit, enter an era of new technological innovation,” said Tom Okman, one of Nord Security for CEOs and co-founders.

The funds managed by BaltCap are increasingly focused on fast-growing companies in the Nordic region. The venture capital fund NordicNinja, jointly managed by BaltCap and Japanese partners JBIC, Panasonic, Omron and Honda, has so far invested in four unicorn companies: Bolt, Veriff, Einride and Voi.

Nord Security was founded in Lithuania in 2012 by Tom Okman and Eimantas Sabaliauskas with the aim of creating an easily accessible Internet security and privacy tool for everyone.

Today, Nord Security’s products are trusted by millions of users around the world, as well as by a number of companies, including Calendly, Adobe, Shutterstock and Vinted, to provide state-of-the-art protection against increasingly evolving cyber attacks.

Nord Security operates in 20 countries around the world and continues to expand rapidly – the number of employees has increased by 50% compared to last year and the company currently has 200 vacancies.
