Balodis and Bergmanis among the class leaders in the Estonian Rally Championship overall

The fourth round of the Estonian Rally Championship was also held within the Rally Estonia WRC. The first three places at the finish line were taken by athletes who also competed in Rally Estonia WRC. The victory was celebrated by Egon Kaur (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5), who lost 18.3 seconds to Georgs Linamäe (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5), while Roberts Virves (Ford Fiesta Rally3) was less than a minute behind.

Timu Korge (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X) was the leader in the EMV5 class after two days. The third was Eddy Bergmanis/Ivo Pūkis (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX), who lost 36.7 seconds, while the fifth was Edgars Balodis/Maksims Juzikevičs (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII). On the final day, which was the longest day of the rally, with several drivers making mistakes or retiring, both of our crews were able to move up. Korge celebrated the victory at the finish, leaving Bergman and Dolodi behind. In the EMV8 class, seventh place was won by Arvis Vecvagars/Gints Gaiķis, but Aleksandrs Jakovljevs/Valerijs Maslovs crashed and were forced to retire.

Also, an unsuccessful rally for Žils Membrado and Kerem Kazas, who started under the Latvian flag, whose driver was Andris Mālnieks. Both crews experienced crashes on the fast and tricky roads.

After four stages, Gregors Jets is the leader in the overall standings. In the EMV5 class, even after this stage, Balož’s crew (73) maintains the lead, Korge is now only three points behind, while Bergmanis is ten points behind. A total of 17 crews won points in this class. The fourth place in the EMV8 class is Veczavagars, who is third in the Lada Classic.

There are still three stages left in the Estonian Rally Championship.
