KOMPAS.com – PSM Makassar and Bali United will have the second leg of the 2023-2024 Asian Champions League internal playoff. Bali United came without a mainstay player, Irfan Jaya.
The second leg of the 2023-2024 Asian Champions League internal playoff match between PSM Makassar vs Bali United will take place at the Gelora BJ Habibie Stadium, Parepare, Saturday (10/6/2023) evening.
The match was confirmed to be fierce, because the two teams drew 1-1 in the first leg in Bali.
The winner of this match will be determined on an aggregate without goal away goals rule. This means that whoever has the highest aggregate score will be entitled to a ticket to the 2023-2024 Asian Champions League playoff phase.
Heading into this second leg, PSM and Bali United both did not bring a complete team.
Bali United will not be strengthened by two pillars on the wings, namely Novri Setiawan and Irfan Jaya. Both suffered injuries after competing in the first leg match.

Bali United coach Stefano Cugurra confirmed that Irfan Jaya’s condition would not allow him to appear in the second leg against PSM.
“I think it’s normal in football that there are collisions. It’s not that a PSM player wants to injure, but that’s normal, he has to rest to recover,” said the coach who is usually called Teco.
“Later, we will think about who will replace him, for sure he can. We have other players, have good quality,” Teco added.
Teco has quite a few options. Novri Setiawan can be replaced by Made Andhika, Ardi Idrus, and new recruit Tegar Infantrie who can occupy many positions.
Meanwhile, Irfan Jaya’s position could be filled by Privat Mbarga, Rahmat Arjuna, Ramdani Lestaluhu, Yabes Roni, M. Rahmat, or Taufik Hidayat.

Stefano Cugurra doesn’t want to point it out. He needed long consideration because he knew the quality of PSM under the leadership of Bernardo Tavares.
The slightest miscalculation could be fatal in a game.
“PSM Makassar people know that Irfan Jaya is very good, but now he can’t help the team. So, other players have to help the team,” Teco concluded.
PSM coach Bernardo Tavares showed the same vigilance.
He confirmed that Ananda Raehan’s absence in the second leg match would certainly not interfere with the readiness of the team nicknamed Juku Eja.
“Ananda Raehan can’t play. However, in tomorrow’s match 11 against 11 will be led by a team of referees and it will be a difficult match for the team,” said the Portuguese coach.
“I hope the team, referees, managers carry out their duties as well as possible,” he said again.
Bernardo Tavares is even more wary of Bali United’s way of coping with the absence of Irfan Jaya, a player who troubled PSM in the first leg.
He was wary of surprises from Teco, the coach who was able to bring Bali United to the Indonesian League 1 title twice.
“Regarding Irfan Jaya, I am not a team doctor from Bali United. But, I’m sure they will solve this solution and they will play with 11 players, “said the UEFA Pro licensed coach.
“They have experience because they are a team that has won twice,” said Bernardo Tavares.
He also hopes that in this second leg match PSM Makassar supporters can maximize the audience quota, so that they can appear as the 12th player.
“What I can say for our team is a little tired, therefore I appeal, I ask for the fans to fill the stadium, give extra energy to the players for this match,” he concluded.
