“Baikonur Cosmodrome Launches Progress MS-23 Cargo Spacecraft to International Space Station”

The Baikonur Cosmodrome is preparing for its fifth launch this year. The Soyuz 2.1a launch vehicle should take off today at 14:56 our time and deliver the Progress MS-23 cargo spacecraft into orbit. If nothing goes wrong, we should expect today not only the launch of this ship, but also its arrival at the International Space Station. Its connection to the orbital complex is currently planned for 18:20 our time. Both from the start and from connecting to the station, we will prepare live broadcasts with commentary in Czech, which you can find in this article.

Final overview:

  • Start time and date: May 24 at 2:56 p.m. CET
  • Start location: Ramp 31/6, Baikonur, Kazakhstan
  • Rocket: Soyuz 2.1a
  • Cargo: Cargo ship Progress MS-23
  • Weight of spacecraft: ~ 7,000 kilograms
  • Orbit: 412 × 420 km (51,6°)

We will start our broadcast from the start approximately 15 minutes before the start, i.e. around 14:40 CEST. If you’re interested in joining the chat, click on the video title in the upper left corner to take you to the YouTube page for that broadcast.

We will start our transmission from the connection roughly 30 minutes before the scheduled connection, i.e. around 17:50 CEST. If you’re interested in joining the chat, click on the video title in the upper left corner to take you to the YouTube page for that broadcast.
