Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – In the southwest, almost 40 percent of people have so far received a booster vaccination against the corona virus. At 38.3 percent, the proportion was, according to the State Health Office, almost ten percentage points higher than a week ago. More than 3.5 million people would have renewed their protection. The proportion of those fully vaccinated was 77.4 percent – and grew by just one percent within a week.

The number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week was 328.9 on Monday – after 345.6 on Sunday. Last Monday it was 429.4. So far, 157 cases of the Omikron variant from Baden-Württemberg have been transmitted to the State Health Office.

49 more corona deaths were reported within one day. The total number rose to 12,620. The number of Covid patients in intensive care units in the country fell by 19 compared to the previous day to 594.

The hospitalization incidence, i.e. the number of hospital admissions of corona infected people per 100,000 people and week, remained at 4.66. The current number of hospital admissions is usually higher than indicated in the incidence. The complete values ​​are often only available after one to two weeks.

The State Health Office reported 2052 further corona cases on Monday, increasing the total number since the start of the pandemic to 974 453.
