Back To Live festivals Biddinghuizen postponed by one week | Inland

The dance festival on Saturday and the pop festival on Sunday are part of a series of test events of Fieldlab Events, a joint initiative of both the business and public events sector and the government. These events are looking at how events can be organized safely during the corona crisis. Earlier this series also organized a conference, a theater performance by Guido Weijers, two football matches, a concert by André Hazes and a dance party.

“The combination of heavy gusts of wind, rainfall and low temperature and the concerns expressed by our visitors, mean that Fieldlab Events expects attendance to be lower and the stay shorter,” said the organization. “This means that the results of the survey will not be representative and the visitor experience is far from pleasant.”

The new date for the Back To Live dance festival is Saturday March 20, a day later is the Pop Festival. As in the first instance, both events will take place between 1 pm and 7 pm in Biddinghuizen. The tickets for the earlier dates remain valid. Visitors to the dance festival were tested on Thursday, but the test result no longer applies. If the new dates are not suitable, tickets can be returned before Sunday 14 March. Those tickets will go on sale again on Monday, March 15 at 4 p.m.

Test afterwards

Not all visitors were tested for the corona virus after the events. For example, after the match between Almere City FC and Cambuur Leeuwarden, 82 percent had themselves tested. After Guido Weijers’ performance, approximately one in five visitors did not have themselves tested, just as after the first football match between NEC and De Graafschap. This resulted in criticism from Corona Minister Hugo de Jonge (Public Health). He said that conclusions of the trial cannot be drawn with certainty in this way.

The test afterwards should not be made compulsory and is not part of the research, explained principal investigator of Fieldlab Events Andreas Voss. “It is primarily intended to facilitate possible source and contact investigation by the GGD.”
