Corinna and the king, is the name of the new postcast series that delights soap opera-loving Spain, and in which Corinna Larsen talks about her longtime relationship with the king. Larsen, a 58-year-old German socialite, had an affair with Juan Carlos who was married between 2004 and 2009. The two met while seeking nobility in the southern Spanish countryside. Soon the king fell madly in love, Larsen says in the first two of eight episodes, which appeared on Monday in both Spanish and English. Juan Carlos is said to have called her “ten times a day” and sent “hundreds of cards”, each handwritten.
So far little news; that the two had a relationship and practically lived the life of a married couple is already known. But Larsen, who for years has continued to call herself a princess after a failed marriage to a German aristocrat, also talks extensively on the podcast about the dubious behavior of a king who thought he lived above the law.
