This is what Doctor Nguyên Quang Tuân, director of the Bach Mai Hospital, said on Saturday. Three teams made up of a hundred health professionals have arrived in Hà Nam province, the new source of infection, to help local medical authorities, he said.
With a capacity of 500 beds and equipped with ventilators and ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) devices, this temporary establishment can accommodate patients most seriously affected by the coronavirus and perform screening tests. Five specific departments are available there, including first aid, intensive care, communicable diseases, cardiology and pediatrics.
This Saturday afternoon, the F1s (first degree contact cases) who are children, the elderly or sick, were placed under strict medical supervision in this temporary hospital.
