A one-year-old baby girl in Staindrop, a village in central England, developed large purple rashes all over her body after being kissed on the lips by a relative, which made her cry and scream in distress. Fortunately, the baby girl was successfully discharged from hospital after 4 days of hospitalization. Doctors also warned that adults kissing babies on the lips may bring serious risks.

According to the “Mirror” report, the baby girl Kaylah’s rash had not spread all over her body when she got sick. Her mother didn’t find out that her crying daughter had a strange disease until she took her to take a bath. Because Kayla had suffered from meningitis, Kayla’s mother and her fiancé did not dare to be careless and immediately sent the child to the hospital.

After the diagnosis, the doctor pointed out that Kayla suffered from “eczema herpeticus” caused by the herpes virus, which is an acute and serious disease that can be fatal. It was determined that Kayla may have contracted the virus when she was kissed by the patient. This made Kayla’s mother unable to accept it and Crying, “How could I possibly lose my daughter because of such a stupid kiss”?

Fortunately, Kayla received two rounds of antibiotics and several ointments to soothe her skin, and she was almost fully recovered and discharged after four days in the hospital. Doctors also point out that babies’ immune systems are not strong enough yet, and it is best for adults not to kiss babies casually. “You don’t have to have symptoms, as long as there is a virus in the body, it will affect the baby.”
