Axiom 1 Crew Space Mission Returns Postponed Again

As the weather starts to improve, crew will close the hold at 6:45 p.m. EST, Sunday (24/4/2022) or 6:45 a.m., Monday (25/4/2022) instead. From there, they will begin their journey home in SpaceX Dragon Endeavor.

They should land off the coast of Florida at around 13:00 local time, Monday (25/4/2022).

Reported from MashableSunday (24/4/2022), the Axiom or Ax-1 mission is a private astronaut mission to the International Space Station (ISS) which could be a major step for the Axiom Station, which aims to become the first commercial space station.

That’s not to say it’s the first time that a non-public astronaut—or even a citizen—is going into space. There was entrepreneur Jeff Bezos, as well as his brother Mark Bezos, and several wealthy teenagers.

The journey includes the four-person Axiom crew who will work on a 10-day mission, including eight days of work and stay in the orbiting laboratory. Among the crew were four-time astronaut Michael Lopez-Alegria; private investor and pilot Larry Conor; investor and former fighter pilot in the Israeli Air Force Eytan Stibbe; and private investor and astronaut Mark Pathy.

The crew conducted more than two dozen experiments while they were on the space station.
