Eintracht Frankfurt has officially extended the contract with board spokesman Axel Hellmann, the 50-year-old has a clear goal in mind.

“We want to establish Eintracht among the top ten,” announced the 50-year-old at a press conference.
Hellmann’s contract would have expired next year. The marketing expert has been working for Eintracht for more than ten years on the board of the Fußball AG.
The committee also includes Markus Krösche (41, sport/contract until 2025) and Oliver Frankenbach (54, finance/contract until 2024).

“We’ve moved a lot in the last ten years – more than other clubs in terms of speed, depth and intensity,” said Hellmann.
He didn’t want to look back for long on the past transfer year, when top scorer André Silva (26) and coach Adi Hütter (52) also left: “We didn’t have any leadership chaos in the summer. I’m very happy that we’re following a consistent line, which the Club wants and what the club can.”

In terms of sport, the Eintracht team under head coach Oliver Glasner (47) has rosy prospects: In the Bundesliga, Frankfurt, who play bottom-placed Greuther Fürth on Saturday, are again playing for international places. However, the upcoming quarter-finals in the Europa League against the great FC Barcelona (April 7th and 14th) are above all in these weeks.
Financially, however, the club – like practically everyone in the Coronavirus-Pandemic – clearly thrown back.
The losses for Eintracht amounted to 45 million euros in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons alone. Nevertheless, Frankfurt is developing further in terms of infrastructure: During the football World Cup in Qatar (November 21 to December 18), the expansion of the stadium to 60,000 seats is to begin.

The Eintracht supervisory board decided unanimously on Hellmann’s staying. “With the extension of the contract, we want to send an important signal for continuity and stability,” said the head of the committee, Philip Holzer. Hellmann helped develop Eintracht Frankfurt into an “attractive and modern club in the Bundesliga and in international football”.
Its influence extends far beyond Eintracht: Hellmann is considered a candidate for a seat on the Executive Committee of the German Football League (DFL), which will be re-elected in August.
