AXA XL strengthens its Political Risk, Credit and Bonds team with the appointment of Caroline Tran

AXA XL Insurance has appointed Caroline Tran as Product Leader of Political Risk, Credit and Bonds (PRCB) in Europe. It’s about a newly created position, from which Caroline Tran will be responsible for develop the underwriting strategy for Europe and of monitor your implementation, collaborating closely with local PRCB subscribers and AXA XL distribution teams. Similarly, Tran will also be directly responsible for the PRCB portfolio of AXA XL in France.

And Riordan, PRCB Global Chief Underwriting Officer, commented that, “2020 has shown us that the world is a more volatile and unpredictable place than ever. COVID-19 has affected infrastructure projects and supply chains. In politics, major changes in trade agreements and instability add to an already high risk environment for companies trading and investing internationally. In order to manage these risks, it is essential to have adequate insurance protection.

For its part, Yannick Daucourt, Chief Underwriting Officer of Specialties at APAC & Europe, added that, “since foreign trade represents more than a third of the gross domestic product of the European Union, many European companies are externally oriented by nature. Therefore, they require expert solutions to understand and manage the risks associated with foreign trade. With rising political tensions, both
global and local, we are witnessing an increase in demand from these organizations ”. He concludes: “We are delighted that Caroline has joined the team to help our European customers tackle these complex risks.”

Caroline Tran has more than 17 years of experience in the political and credit insurance industry. She began her professional career at Coface (in Shanghai) in 2004 and became a National Risk Analyst and Political Risk Underwriter for Unistrat Coface (in Paris) in 2005. Most recently, she served as Deputy Head of Special Products and Product Leader at Atradius , having served in senior roles in both the UK and Europe.
