Avision presents AD225WN document scanner: scanner for on the go - IT management

Avision introduced its AD225WN document scanner, targeting individuals and small businesses as well as commuters and business travelers. The space-saving, mobile AD225WN is compact and, thanks to its dimensions and design, very portable. With a length of almost 30 cm and a weight of 1.5 kg, the provider presents the AD225WN, a scanner that can scan not only paper documents, but also hardened cards such as credit and health insurance cards, ID cards or driver’s licenses.

With its compact design and the foldable, automatic document feeder (ADF) as well as the front shelf, the AD225WN is suitable as a travel companion and mobile document scanner that has both LAN and WLAN and can be operated via an app. The optional Wi-Fi module should prove to be practical. This means that scans can be sent or received directly on the go. Thanks to the network connection on the back, the AD225WN can also be used as a network scanner.

As promised by Avision, the AD225WN is not only slim, but also fast, versatile, reliable and easy to use. With the current version of the Button Manager V2, the device scans both sides of a document and converts them directly into a searchable PDF or JPEG. The AD225WN will automatically detect the size of the document, straighten the document, and then display the document in the correct orientation. In addition, the scanned document can then be sent to the e-mail program, printer or image processing software.

The device scans in color, grayscale and monochrome at a speed of up to 25 documents / 50 images per minute duplex at 300 dpi. The maximum optical resolution is 600 dpi. Credit cards, business cards or documents made of thicker material should be easy to scan. Avision recommends 3000 pages as the daily volume. In order to create the best possible image quality from cards, the AD225WN has a special front and back tray so that credit or other plastic cards with a thickness of up to 1.25 mm can be scanned without any problems.

The AD225WN is equipped with Twain and Isis drivers, a full version of AVScan X, the Button Manager V2 and the “Nuance PaperPort SE 14” software, according to Avision. With the Button Manager V2 documents can be easily scanned and the image can be sent to the pre-selected target application. AVScan is an intelligent scanning and data archiving solution. The additional software Nuance PaperPort offers an easy way to organize, search and exchange all printed PDF and digital documents as well as photos. The scanner also has optical CIS technology (Contact Imaging Sensor) and a USB 2.0 interface.
