In a parody and deliberately outrageous atmosphere of an electoral television show, clownish candidates try to convince. But Miss or Mister President? is a more complex object than this simple comic gallery, because of the three actors (Olivier Calcada, Annie Potier and Fanny Maugard) two are deaf, and speak their text through sign language. The text and direction are by Jennifer Lesage-David, co-director, with Emmanuelle Laborit, from the International Visual Theater, in Paris. Most often, a translation is part of the game. But, gradually, this translation is erased, and the hearing audience (who can vote when leaving the room) is then confronted with a language that they do not know and do not know. not include.
