Avicii will have its own museum in Stockholm in 2021 NOW

Swedish DJ Avicii, who died in 2018, will have a museum in his hometown Stockholm in 2021, was announced on Tuesday.

The Avicii Experience features memorabilia, never-before-seen photos and videos and music, including previously unreleased demos of his hit Levels.

The museum will also feature unreleased music that formed the basis for the posthumous Avicii album, Tim. That album was released in 2019, just over a year after the musician, who was called Tim Bergling, committed suicide on April 20, 2018, while traveling in Muscat, Oman.

The museum is part of Space, a digital cultural center that will open its doors in the summer of 2021 on one of Stockholm’s most important city squares, Sergels Torg.

Part of the proceeds from the Avicii Experience will go to the Tim Bergling Foundation, which was founded by Bergling’s parents. The foundation focuses on suicide prevention among young people.
