Environmental emergency risk due to a violent fire that broke out on Saturday afternoon in Aviano in the Snua warehouse, a company that deals with waste treatment, in via De Zan. The dense black smoke that is released, the result of the combustion of plastic and recycled materials, whose column is visible up to 10 kilometers away, the smell can be heard up to Pordenone. The main shed, engulfed in flames, has partially collapsed. Twelve fire brigade teams from Pordenone, Maniago, Spilimbergo and San Vito, in addition to the NBCR vehicle, were on site from 7.30 pm to the bitter end. A plant worker reported a start of intoxication.
The environmental situation appears delicate, the mayors of the area invite the population to stay at home and close the windows until there is certain information on the actual seriousness of the event. Meanwhile, the Arpa Fvg emergency team intervened to assess the environmental damage. From the first information, the flames affected the so-called css waste shed, i.e. secondary solid fuel. The cause of the accident has not yet been ascertained. The councilor for the defense of the environment will convene the property as early as Monday in order to prevent new episodes considering that this is the second in less than a year.
