Mayor of the CHP, Turan Hançerli, made an interesting action at the session of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality on 16 January.
Speaking during the Assembly session, Hançerli said that the earthquake of 5.8 on September 26 reminded the 1999 earthquake again:

Hançerli said that he had talks with the commission in this process and explained the problems:
* I know that the Reconstruction Commission is working hard. But the earthquake problem should be the priority of the commission.
* If this change was made in October, maybe 100 buildings were digging today.
* We were shaken again a week ago. The earthquake that we have forgotten for 20 years reminds us of nature, Allah.
* I still have not lost hope. If you’re going to do better, I’il wait a day, 10 days. But I don’t think it’s right for months. I can’t answer my fellow hunters.
