This Tuesday, more than 1,500 Covid patients were hospitalized in establishments in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, including 275 in critical care.
“In anticipation of changes in resuscitation bed needs, after consultation with all the federations of hospital establishments, the director general of ARS Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes asks all public and private establishments to activate their white plans“, announces the Regional Health Agency, this Wednesday, in a press release.

“Health establishments are called upon to organize in a concerted manner on their territory deprogramming of part of their surgical activity, on the one hand to ensure a coordinated increase in resuscitation beds, by ensuring a balanced distribution between all the establishments and on the other hand to contribute to the reception of patients in conventional hospitalization, she adds.
The ARS also asks establishments to attach “special attention to appropriate maintenance of cancer surgery and transplant activities, as well as chronic disease management“.
The activation of this white plan takes effect from this Wednesday and will be maintained until January 3, with a reassessment at the end of December.
The Agency asks establishments to “pay particular attention to relations with users”. “It is essential that they are regularly informed of situations that may have an impact on the terms of their care”, she assures.
In addition, voluntary health professionals (students, retirees, freelancers, employees, etc.) wishing to support healthcare teams at the hospital are called upon to make themselves known. via the Renfort RH platform, set up by the Ministry of Solidarity and Health.
Faced with the acceleration of the circulation of Covid-19 but also winter diseases (bronchiolitis, gastroenteritis, etc.), city professionals are also called upon to mobilize to ensure the reception and care of patients requiring non-urgent and unscheduled care.
Finally, the ARS Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes reminds all the inhabitants of the region that it is necessary to call 15 before going to an emergency department.
