Autonomous Driving: IAMTS Moves Headquarters from Pennsylvania to …

The International Alliance for Mobility Testing and Standardization (IAMTS) has moved its headquarters from Pennsylvania (USA) to Vienna and is now promoting its global activities to coordinate and promote certified test procedures and uniform standards for autonomous driving from the new headquarters. On this occasion, the IAMTS invited to the opening ceremony on 24 and 25 October. On the premises of Austrian Standards, 24 October was dedicated to professional exchange with lectures and discussions on urban mobility, the challenges and opportunities of highly and fully automated driving in a global context, as well as prospects for creation and (further) development of uniforms and high quality standards Test environments for autonomous driving.

There was also a joint tour of the Smart Urban Logistics Lab at the Port of Vienna on 25 October with innovative live demonstrations on site. In addition to numerous national and international representatives of IAMTS member companies and organizations, honored guests of the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK), the city ​​of Vienna and the port of Vienna took part in the speech of the experts.

In addition, the Austrian capital and its surroundings impress with numerous innovative companies that are already significantly driving the future of safe and autonomous driving. We are very pleased that IAMTS continues to promote the promotion of uniform guidelines for the industry, the harmonization of approval requirements and thus also the development of automated mobility from Vienna in the heart of Europe “, explains Prof. Dr. Joachim Taiber, Managing Director of IAMTS and Chief Technology Officer of the International Transportation Innovation Center (ITIC). Together with IAMTS co-CEO Christian Lausmann, Head of Division Mobility of TÜV SÜD Austria, he is responsible for the further expansion of the global activities of IAMTS from Vienna.
