Autologous Immune Cell Therapy, Practiced in Japan, Now Helps Vinmec Hospital Treat Cancer Patients in Hanoi, Vietnam After GN Corporation Technology Transfer | News

The in vitro culture method of NK cells and T lymphocytes, without nutrient cells or animal serum or genetic manipulation, for immune cell therapy for cancer patients developed and practiced in Japan has been transferred technology to Vinmec Hospital, Hanoi, Vietnam, which was implemented in stages namely, (i) cell processing facility infrastructure and equipment consulting, (ii) biotechnologist training from Vietnam to Japan, (iii) on-site technical support in the Vinmec hospital laboratory by of Japanese experts (iv) educational seminars for physicians, oncologists and (v) Interaction with the regulatory authority in Japan, the PMDA and MHLW; led by GNC Japan. Immune cell therapy with Thermotron RF8-EX radiofrequency hyperthermia, when added to conventional cancer treatment, results in increased survival of cancer patients. These proven safety treatments that have long been practiced in Japan to manage most solid tumors are of interest to many cancer hospitals overseas to add to their existing cancer services.
