Autoerotic Asphyxia, Seeking Sexual Satisfaction Through Dangerous Ways

Autoerotic asphyxia is said to be done by some people to increase their sexual satisfaction. This is a dangerous action because it is done by cutting off the oxygen supply to the brain.

Quoted from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association, autoerotic asphyxia belongs to the group of paraphilias or sexual deviations. Usually people with autoerotic asphyxia will get more sexual satisfaction when strangled.

Because of this, autoerotic asphyxia experts are called prone to accidental death. When the brain does not get an adequate supply of oxygen, the existing cells can start to damage.
