1/26
From the dream of the Europa League for the brave Lustenauer. There was nothing to be won for strong men from Mählich’s men. On the other hand, are the bulls in master shape? The final notes.
2/26
Florian Eres (note = participated): It was his very first competitive game for Austria. Could not defuse the free kick from Szoboszlai, initiated the 0: 2 with an error. We judge the cup final as a non-binding exercise.
3/26
Michael Lageder (grade = 3): Got to deal with Szoboszlai on the right side and with the flexible Daka and Hwang. Came under pressure from the Salzburg squad, but at least made no mistake before conceding a goal.
4/26
Sebastian Feyrer (grade = 4 +): Throw the ball far forward instead of initiating a controlled set-up. Hence a weak pass rate. Defensive often had to watch Hwang up close, the South Korean didn’t get many chances.
5/26
Dominik Stumberger (grade = 4): made it 0-2 when goalkeeper Eres hit the ball on his shin. From there, the ball rolled into its own goal, even if the approaching Daka absolutely wanted the goal attributed.
6/26
Christian Schilling (grade = 4-): Wanted to assert himself against two opponents in his own penalty area, but lost the ball and caused Okafor’s 0: 3.
7/26
Pius Grabher (grade 3-): At first got along well with the pace of Salzburg and tried early to put pressure in the midfield. But couldn’t break Salzburg’s dominance in midfield either.
8/26
Daniel Tiefenbach (grade 3-): ran a lot and worked actively against the ball, was always present in the duels and missed Junuzovic’s laceration. Had to make way for Wallace in the 54th.
9/26
Christoph Freitag (grade = 3): acted as a six in front of the chain of four. Saw the yellow card for a foul on Ashimeru in the 51st minute, symbolizing the high speed of the bulls.
10/26
Thomas Mayer (grade 4): At first, he presented himself as poisonous and went into the duels aggressively. Had to wind up a few kilometers like his colleagues to prevent the Salzburg relocations. On the offensive the punch was lacking.
11/26
Alexander Ranacher (grade 4): Thwarted on the line Junuzovic’s cheeky free kick scooter in the 15th minute. Unfortunately for attack actions too predictable and therefore easy for Salzburg’s defense.
12/26
Ronivaldo (grade = 3 +): It should possibly be one of his career highlights, but the striker was meticulously covered by the Salzburgers. With his rich crossbar goal in the 62nd minute almost brought the Lustenauer back again.
13/26
Too short: Daniel Steinwender, Lukas Katnik, Wallace
14/26
Cican Stankovic (grade 3): The keeper experienced an extremely quiet cup final thanks to his defense chain and rarely had to intervene due to the harmless Lustenau offensive.
15/26
Albert Vallci (grade 3): Could or only rarely had to show his skills due to the course of the game. A little unfortunate in his offensive actions, but with good running.
16/26
Andre Ramalho (grade 2): The Brazilian was defensive without blemishes. His wide balls initially found no buyers, but then he found the pace of his men in front better and better. Dangerous even in the sixteenth.
17/26
Maximilian Wöber (grade 2): Was very present from the start and repeatedly launched offensive actions with daring passports. But it didn’t always work.
18/26
Andreas Ulmer (grade 2-): The oldie on the left outer lane switched to the front as usual and combined with the wing several times, especially with Junuzovic, and was able to win his 16th title with Salzburg.
19/26
Majeed Ashimeru (grade 2+): The anchor in front of the central defense hit his old club and showed a solid game. Initially seemed a bit hasty in the game, but then got better and better and directed the midfield.
20/26
Zlatko Junuzovic (grade 3): acted as the left eighth, from where he and Ulmer provided some steam in the first half. Cleverly tore holes for his teammates with his run in the building game. In the 68th minute it was over for him.
21/26
Dominik Szoboszlai (grade 1): The courted playmaker provided the opening goal with a nice free kick in the 19th minute and also put pressure on goalkeeper Eres in the second goal.
22/26
Patson Daka (Note 3): Formed the more offensive Sturm duo with Hwang again. Whirled around Lustenau’s ranks and made many runs into the top. However, he was denied a goal.
23/26
Noah Okafor (grade 2): The newcomer worked a lot forward and is getting better and better into the bulls’ offensive game. Crowned his performance with the goal to 3-0 – his first goal for the Bulls.
24/26
Hee-chan Hwang (grade 2+): Was an asset from the start and provided the first dangerous actions. Pressed extremely hard after Eres’ bad pass and thus initiated Stumberger’s faux pas to 2: 0.
25/26
Sekou Koita (grade 2): Was allowed to sniff the last quarter of an hour with Karim Adeyemi. Became a big slit ear when he scored 5-0 by hand.
26/26
Too short: Antoine Bernede, Karim Adeyemi, Jerome Onguene, Patrick Farkas

Ronivaldo best scorer in the ÖFB Cup
After all, the top scorer went to Lustenauer, Ronivaldo kept the upper hand with seven goals. “We knew Salzburg was a big favorite. Losing is a shame, but that’s football . It was a great season anyway,” said the 31-year-old Brazilian.
After 2011 (0: 2 against Ried) the cup reached the second time. With WSG Tirol, a Bundesliga club was also eliminated on the way there. “It was a huge success for us that we got this far. Nobody can take that from us, it was great,” said Mählich in a positive conclusion. There is not much time left to process the experiences, as the first league appearance at the GAK is due on Saturday after the end of the Corona break. “It is now important for us to make the leap from the big seasonal highlight to everyday life,” said Feyrer.
Austria Lustenau: Bundesliga promotion after more than 20 years in the second division?
However, the league is of little importance this year. There are no relegations, the ascent has left for the seventh. “We have almost always been among the top three in recent years, which is a sporting goal,” said Sports CEO Bernd Bösch headed the route. Before that, one or the other contract situation has to be clarified due to the extended season until July 31. This topic had been put behind because of the cup.
The Vorarlbergers want to be at the forefront next season. The return to the Bundesliga , in which one was represented from 1997 to 2000, should not be long in coming. “The 2nd division is economically difficult, so the goal for the club is to get up as quickly as possible and then stay up,” said Bösch. But you are not alone with this objective. This is one of the reasons why one does not want to speak of a must climb 2020/21. “We don’t have to build up pressure unnecessarily,” emphasized Bösch.
His club has been stuck in the second-highest division for 20 years and has always mastered economic problems. “The club has shown that it can stay in professional football for a long time and now we have the ambition to show that we can also stay in the 1st division,” said Bösch.
Austria also has a strong environment. “That is why I believe that we have the potential to do it,” said the Vorarlberg optimistically about the future. There will be no financial experiments. “It is our goal to be financially secure and to move up with the necessary club structure,” explained Bösch. The SCR Altach also serves as a model.

Ronivaldo: contract extension possible – new stadium to come
For the most part, the current squad should judge, a major change is not planned. Ronivaldo should play a central role. The top striker only has a contract until the end of the season. “If an offer really comes that is financially so lucrative that it deserves a multiple elsewhere, then we will not be able to keep it, but we also know that he is very happy to be in Lustenau because he is very well anchored here,” said Bösch.
The ambitious stadium conversion project is also geared towards the highest division. In spite of Corona, the planning continued, the submission planning was being made. “It would be ideal if the first construction measures could be implemented next year and we could complete the major stage once in 2022,” said Bösch. With regard to the financing of the more than 17 million euro project, efforts are also being made to find a good solution with external partners.
