Ukraine to resume international flights on June 15
After almost three months of stoppage because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Ukraine announced on Wednesday the resumption of domestic flights on June 5 and that of international flights from June 15. The destinations served will be revealed later, with Kiev leading “active negotiations” with other capitals on this subject, said in a statement the Minister of Infrastructure, Vladyslav Kryklii. “For us, countries with developed tourism and a favorable epidemiological situation are priority”, he added, without further details.
Kiev closed its borders for foreigners and stopped all scheduled flights in mid-March as part of severe confinement imposed after the detection of the first cases of Covid-19 in this country, one of the poorest in Europe , and whose public health system is in ruins.
On Wednesday, the government also authorized the normal operation of restaurants and cafes from Friday. After their closure in March, these establishments were able to reopen their terraces in mid-May.
