Australian golfer Greg Norman hospitalized with COVID-19

MIAMI | Australian golf champion Greg Norman announced on Friday that he had been hospitalized with symptoms of COVID-19 and posted a photo on Instagram of him on a hospital bed.

Norman, 65, former world number one who won the British Open in 1986 and 1983, said on Thursday that he was suffering from symptoms of the new coronavirus and that he had placed himself in quarantine at his home in Jupiter, in Florida. A test he had done on Tuesday was nonetheless negative.

On Christmas Day, Norman posted a photo of himself with medical equipment in the background, a mask covering his face and with the caption: “That sums it up well. My Christmas Day ”.

He explained that he had a slight fever, that he was coughing, and had pain and headaches.

Greg Norman had competed in the PNC Championship last week in Orlando with his son Greg Jr., finishing in ninth place.
