Austin Butler negotiates his participation in the second part of ‘Dune’

Austin Butler negotiates his participation in ‘Dune: Part Two‘, the long-awaited second part of the best film of 2021 for the users of this website, and which will once again have Denis Villeneuve as director (and main creative manager).

According to media such as Deadline, if signed, the actor would play the role of Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, the same one who played and became the iconic Sting in the 1984 version directed by David Lynch. That is, the youngest nephew of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, who has chosen him as Na-Baron, his successor in House Harkonnen.

Recall that just a couple of days ago it was announced that Florence Pugh (‘Midsummer’) was also negotiating her possible participation in the film, in her case in the role of Princess Irulan Corrino.

If signed, both will join a cast that will most likely be led by Timothe Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin. For their part, Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts will re-sign their script with Villeneuve.

The filming of this continuation will begin next summer with a view to its premiere, this time “only in theaters”, on October 20, 2023, both in the United States and in Spain. The film is a Legendary Pictures production distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Known above all for his participation in ‘The Shannara Chronicles’Butler has two productions pending release that will probably make him a star: On the one hand, the new film by Baz Luhrmann, ‘Elvis‘, in which he plays Elvis Presley; and on the other’Masters of the Air‘, the third installment of the war trilogy to form together with the acclaimed ‘blood brothers’ (2001) and ‘The Pacific’ (2010), and in this case is backed by Apple (instead of HBO).
