And the day before, a large military-sports festival in honor of the anniversary of the Airborne Forces took place at the Alabino training ground near Moscow. They showed combat maneuvers and modern weapons. Elite divisions will receive 600 units of new and modernized equipment this year.

At all times the warriors of the “winged infantry” were entrusted with the most difficult and responsible tasks. Paratroopers are renowned for their valor, impeccable training, and unbending will. Today, the Airborne Forces is a highly mobile branch of the armed forces, equipped with the latest weapons and equipment, capable of quickly performing tasks of any complexity.

For their courage and heroism during the Great Patriotic War, thousands of officers, sergeants and soldiers of the Airborne Forces were awarded orders and medals, 296 people were awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union. For their unparalleled heroism and combat training, all airborne divisions were given the honorary name “Guards”.

The “blue berets” have demonstrated their selflessness and resilience in Afghanistan, the North Caucasus, Yugoslavia and other hot spots. The current generation of paratroopers, as before, is distinguished by impeccable combat prowess and ability to achieve their goals at all costs.
