As a precaution, the carmaker Audi has extended short-time work until the end of September. The supply of components at the Neckarsulm and Ingolstadt locations is still tight.
A message from Audi AG to the workforce states that it is currently not possible to foresee with certainty whether Audi will be able to avert loss of work. Because of the summer production shutdown starting on Monday in August, the carmaker has already registered possible short-time work for two months.
Vehicle production is particularly affected, for example the luxury model A8 in Neckarsulm (Heilbronn district) will only be manufactured in the early shift this week. Even after the end of the factory holidays on August 22, Audi does not rule out the possibility of short-term changes in production.
