For many, Diego Maradona is and remains the god of football.
At a auction, a jersey of the Argentine soccer icon raised 55,000 euros. The auction took place in favor of victims of the corona pandemic.
Maradona’s ex-teammate Ciro Ferrara donated his former colleague’s dress to SSC Napoli.
“We won another game, Ciro Ferrara. Maybe the most important thing. We won it together, as we always did …” Maradona writes on Facebook.
85,000 euros net proceeds
According to Ferrara, a total of 85,000 euros were raised at the auction. In addition to the Maradona shirt, memorabilia were auctioned by 26 other football players.
Former Italian international Ferrara founded a foundation with Fabio and Paolo Cannavaro, who were also born in Naples, the Fondazione Cannavaro Ferrara.
