At the beginning of this month, neowise reached our solar system, but cloud cover often made it difficult to see. The weather conditions are favorable on Saturday evening. In large parts of the country it is clear in the evening and at night. Neowise is visible from 10:30 p.m., but the best chance of spotting it is around 1:30 a.m. in the north to northwest of the sky.
Changeable weather
The weather will become more changeable in the coming days, making the comet less visible. Neowise will remain in our solar system for the time being. The distance to Earth is the smallest on Wednesday 22 July. Then the comet is 103 million kilometers from Earth, but the brightness has already decreased slightly. Mainly in the southern half of the country there are clearing up during that night and there is a chance to see the comet.
Neowise will gradually get farther from Earth and become less visible, even on clear nights. In September, the distance to Earth has become so great that the comet is no longer visible. The next time the comet can be seen from Earth will be in 8600 years.
