On the morning of this Monday, the doctor Óscar Moreno Vargas, 55, who was in the intensive care unit of the University Hospital of Neiva, died after contracting covid-19.
The doctor had been admitted to the ICU on July 30 due to complications in his health after being infected with the coronavirus.
This is the first death of a health professional in the department due to the pandemic, which in Huila leaves 36 confirmed deaths at the moment.
The doctor Óscar Moreno Vargas, who was close to his birthday, worked as Coordinator of the Hospital Occupational Health and Safety Office, and also stood out for being a mediator in the sit-ins that were held in this entity.
