Akani Simbine and André de Grasse reigned over the 200m series at the Székesfehérvár meeting (Hungary). South African Akani Simbine won the first series in the 200m in 20.25. A little earlier, he had realized the sensation in the 100m by setting a time of 9 ”84. This allowed him to afford the African record.
In the second series of the men’s 200m, André de Grasse won gold with a time of 19.97. The 26-year-old Canadian was respectively two and five hundredths ahead of Americans Kenny Bednarek (19 ”99) and Erriyon Knighton (20” 03).
