Serbia defeated Portugal in the Group A away match 2: 1 (1: 1), which will fight in the “play-off” round.

The first goal in the game in Lisbon was scored in the second minute, when Bernārdu Silva fought the ball and passed it to Renāta Sanšešam, who took one step on the penalty area and hit it in the goal – 1: 0. According to Dragan Stojkovic, head coach of the Serbian national team, Silva had previously broken the rules, but the referees were of the opposite opinion.

In the 33rd minute of the match, after the shot of Dušana Tadic, the ball awkwardly caught the ball by Rui Patrīsiu, directing it to the goal – 1: 1. The result was good for the Portuguese team, but in the last minute of the regular time after Tadic’s center, Mitrovich hit the ball close to the ground from a close distance, reaching the net – 2: 1 in favor of the Serbian national team.

In this group, Ireland also defeated Luxembourg 3: 0 (0: 0). Shine Duffy, Chigoi Ogbene and Kelam Robinson scored the Irish goal.

In sub-group A, with 20 points in eight matches, Serbia won first place, while Portugal won 17 points. Ireland and Luxembourg had nine points and Azerbaijan scored one point.

Spain, meanwhile, won 1: 0 (0: 0) over Sweden in Seville, although they were also undefeated in the match.

Alvaro Morata was the scorer. Dani Olmo shot a hard curved free kick, striking the post.

In the second Group B game, Greece and Kosovo fought in a draw 1: 1 in Athens. Georg Masur scored for the Greeks and Amir Rahmani for the Kosovars.

In subgroup B, Spain won by 19 points in eight games, Sweden by 15 points, Greece by ten points, Georgia by seven and Kosovo by five.

In the European area, the samples are divided into ten subgroups, five by five and five by six. Ten group winners will qualify for the World Cup final, and ten second-place winners and two top UEFA Nations teams in the sub-groups will be out of the top two.

In the elimination tournament, 12 teams will be divided into three “play-off” branches, where in March 2022 three more participants of the final tournament will be determined.

The final of the World Cup will take place in Qatar, and due to the hot weather, the tournament will be played in the winter from November 21 to December 18.

Brazil, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, France, Croatia, Serbia and Spain have already entered the final tournament without a hostess in Qatar.

In 2022, Qatar will host the final World Cup final with 32 teams. The 2026 tournament, hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States, will feature 48 national teams.
